    Hi there

I applied at a couple of MS companies last night and did a trial for Optimum and they've turned me down!
In my defense, I'm off work with a virus, and probably didn't give 100% - can I try again? Or accept it's not for me?
    I'm gutted!

Awww don't get disheartened, forget about Optimum and sign up to other companies! I haven't heard much about that company to be honest, I'm certainly not signed up to them.

Particularly I'd recommend GAP if you've never shopped before, retail eyes, GfK, TNS and Grassroots are all companies that I signed up to when I first started and are pretty good.

If you haven't already make sure you have a nosey at the first few posts by TractorGirl. Plenty of companies to sign up to!

    Hi Lil_Me
Thanks for that! Yes I did read Tractorgirl's post and it was very helpful.
Still unsure as to whether it's for me, but will wait to get replies from the other 2 I signed up with before I decide.
    Thanks again :)
  • I signed up to Optimum but I don't think they have got as many jobs compared to the other companies out there. I've certainly never had an assignment from them. I suggest giving GAP ago to get you started and for you to see if ms'ing is for you or not.

It depends really on how much work you are willing to put in. After they hit their first million people just tend to disappear from this thread and we never see them again.
Obviously I'm nowhere near my first million because I've only been doing this for a few months but ...... this time next year..... woo hoo:j
Seriously though it can range from costing you money to do a job up to whatever you can talk yourself into with the various different companies. Get a good reputation and live in a busy area with no other MSers and things can be bright. Depends on your own circumstances and abilities.
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for some advice regarding a new mobile phone if anyone can help as I'm not very technically minded? :o I'd like to be able to use my phone to check my e-mails and also to open the mystery shopping sites and book and apply for assignments. I'd be grateful for any advice on phones that work well for this :D

So in other words it's a scam.

either you get paid or you don't.
  • Grrr, someone just stole my station! The station jobs are only really worth it if I cna get a couple of them because you have to buy a ticket to get past the barriers, and I just accept 1, then try to accept the second but get a message saying its just been taken by another shopper. Typical!

Hi folks. Thought I would introduce myself as a new shopper. Done one visit so far with another 3 jobs scheduled. Seems ok so far but will be happier when I see the money in my account. Thanks for all the comments and advice on this thread. have been most useful.

Tractorgirl, I have PM'd you to see if you can send me the spreadsheet you mentioned? Don't have excel and can't get ukmonkey's macro to open.
