Hi guys,
I've searched all over and can't find the answer - does anyone know the number I need to call to de-register as self employed? I no longer have the time to MS unfortunately (plus I only earned something like £150).0 -

Hi Noctu
Try the first post, I believe it contains the telephone number for HMRC and a link to their website.0 -

Thanks :-) I've had a look and unfortunately that number is just to register or enquire about becoming 'newly self employed' - and nothing useful comes up for my search on the website (the only number I can find it how to inform them about the NI contributions side of it) Ahh!

Petrol Jobs
Would appreciate of someone could answer the following question please.
If i did a petrol job where the cost of petrol was x and the amount i was reimbursed was x, would i still have to pay tax on this amount or would it be tax free as the cost = reimbursement ?
I would be interested to know the answer, thank you.0 -
Hi all,
If somebody could help a newbie out with a couple of queries, I'd be very grateful!
I've been trying to work out my profits for tax purposes as per the info on Page 1 and had a question. For a few of my assignments, I've used public transport to get there (where it's been worth it to do so). From what I can gather, the mileage allowance on the front page does not apply to public transport and there's no equivalent - but I just wanted to check this was definitely the case before proceeding?
Secondly, I also have a question about pub visits for the site that seems to have them most often. Is it permitted to bring along a guest for these? In all the notes I've read, it doesn't explictly state either way, though being allowed to take children is mentioned and you do have to order 2 drinks. Just wanted to check rather than getting it wrong when I manage to grab one of these assignments!
Thanks in advance0 -
I had unusual visit to a certain burger place recently. It just so happened that while I was there one of the managers from head office was doing an inspection. He based himself at the table next to me and I could hear every word. One poor girl was summoned before him and given a dressing down. He was also giving interviews for potential managers and other staff which was quite interesting. What tickled me was, while the service I received was not bad, it was not perfect by any means despite the bigwig being there. Unfortunately, there was no place to mention such an event on the report but I reported everything else accurately ( it was not the place where you have to say everything was hunky dory or you face the real possiblity of the sack).0

I'll answer the one I definitely know first - I believe you are allowed to bring someone with you unless it specifically specifies not to - they have a couple of different branded pubs so its best to double check with them if it doesn't specifiy in the briefing, they're quite hapy to take calls or mails. For one brand of pubs with food for example it will say "You are allowed to bring someone with you but we'll only cover the cost of your meal not both of them." But for another you just get an allowance and its up to you if you go alone or bring someone along and share it. Bear in mind as well that you will need to be able to answer questions about both drinks.
As for the first one - I have a car so I dont know for definite but I dont think theres any sort of mileage allowance for public transport. I think you would just need to put it down as an expense.0 -

Miss_Qwerty wrote: »Would you believe it, the saga of the chicken job from Friday night rumbles on!
Just incase anyone missed it, the briefing notes said it was a lunchtime job, the "2 days before you shop" mail said it was a 9pm-11pm and the "My assignments" bit said 5pm - 9pm.
Anyway, after much dithering I decided to go by the My assignments bit, and it let me input my results fine, but now when I go into My assignments for a burger job ive got today it says that the chicken job from Friday is rejected/cancelled, like it normally does when you try to book the same job twice in a row.
So does that mean they've rejected my assessment and are not paying me but just havn't bothered contacting me to tell me, or is it ANOTHER error, in which case am I going to get paid for the job or do I need to contact them?
Very very confused
I'm similar, I accepted a burger job to be done today between 12-2, so I did it, but when i've gone to enter the details it shows as between 5-7. !!!!!!. What do I do???0
