I've just been googling for tips on hanging washing in the wind (it's blowing a gale up here) and found a lovely website about the 1900's (apologies if it's already been posted).
It's childhood recollections of everyday life in a working class family in the early 1900's, written by the owners mother. It's a lovely read for anyone interested, definately old-style.

What a fab website! I've been researching mine and OH's family history, looking especially at the turn of the century, and it is really interesting to hear what life was really like when our grandparents and great granparents were young0
