Jo's kick up the 'aris and motivational ramblings

Hi Jo!
I am exactly the same, motivation comes in waves, but the tide is out a lot! Can't stick at challenges and am at the moment very pleased that my 11year old dyson needs a new filter so I can't use it...
Hypno came up with a nice little decluttering exercise a couple of weeks ago, along the same theme as Essex. 10 things in an hour, Hypno was extremely ruthless and got rid. I jumped on the bandwagon and am pleased to say I have no more old Next catalogues, telephone diectories or dead batteries under the stairs or in the 'man draw'. But I'm trying for 10 things a day.
Have brought galaxy and jaffa cakes by way of house warming..DC.

Morning chaps - lots of postivity on here - scurries off to find the old next catalogues which I know are under the desk - I cleared out the larder yesterday and found 6 bags of sugar in various states of undress (having just gone to get sugar at the shops - whoops).
About to tackle the fridge as just done some cooking (well did it yesterday night)
Waves to Hypno and DC
I will be more organised, I will be more organised - honest...will start in a minute

And sorry EH and JO but surely I am the most disorganised person ever? Fay stumbles off and claims the crown ......??
By the sounds of you lot none of you would be able to find the crown!
Morning Jo, hope you've found a little more motivation today

My mum always says that being disorganised is actually a very positive thing.
Think about it - those people you know who are utterly organised in every way, and therefore lead very simple lives, knowing where everything is, and having timetables for who needs to be where at what time and with what sports kit, and who always have said sports kit washed and ironed and neatly laid out on the chair in the bedroom 48 hours before it is needed.........well, if something "unexpected" is suddenly thrown into the mix, then they find it very difficult to cope - it is a disaster, and affects their day/week far more than perhaps it should.
whereas those of us who are disorganised, are very used to getting things done amongst chaos and uncertainty. We still manage to get everyone where they need to be and with the right kit. AND if someone throws something else into the mix, child being ill, car breaking down, running out of milk when the shops are shut.....well, it is all part of our normal chaotic disorganised life, so we can just deal with it along with everything else!
I don't think I have explained it very well, but thinking about my very organised and "perfect life" neighbour, I know EXACTLY what I mean :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It does seem to be true in many cases. When I think about my very organised friends, the merest hint of something unexpected causes them much stress.
Whereas I have so much stress, a little more tends to go unnoticed :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

If there's a crown in here I think you'll have trouble finding it :rotfl:
I do apologise to any visitors popping by at the clutter around here and the lack of seating, if you look over there you see the piles of yellow pages, argos catalogues and old good food magazines?? Well there's a nice comfy chair under there
I will be bringing into place, as from today, a new decluttering system on the basis of EH and Hypno's theorys (thanks to DC for mentioning it), I will be starting with '3 things to do' a day, hopefully, when I get into the swing of things and start enjoying the decluttering  I might even move up to the 10 mark  but, hey, let's not go mad
So today I have my normal things to do:- Washing, washing and more washing
- Try to get kids to decide whether they want packed lunch or school dinners next week
- Going to my mums with said kids and taking them all () to Mr T's for mum's weekly shop
- Cooking roast
- Bathing, scrubbing kids, washing hair, cutting nails etc.
- Sorting school uniform and bags for tomorrow
- Sorting my clothes and bag out for tomorrow to save time in the morning
- If kids have packed lunches then need to get some of it ready
- Robbing Peter to pay Paul to find the money for Childminder tomorrow
- Lay in hot bubble bath with choklit and coffee
- Tidying (half of) the lounge, the half that is covered in toys
- Sort out the kids wardrobes, chucking out stuff that's too small and tidying as I go. Any stuff I am getting rid of I will drop in the clothes bank at Mr T's today
- Clean kitchen sink (I used to fly believe it or not ), there is nothing like a shiny sink! (This I will do later whilst cooking roast)
DC, thank's for popping inmy tide's not been in for years :rotfl:Thanks for the house warming choklit
(though probably a dust pan and brush would've been more appropriate
) xx

I've had a thought about the whole disorganised thing myself
Think about Johnny Depp & Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean... (all pause to consider the dreaminess)...
Anyway, that bit where Orlando (what was his name?) discovers Captain Jack is a pirate & then Jack whacks him with that bit of the boat (the boom?) so he's left dangling over the high seas... With me yet?
Jack says something about it's all a question of what you can do & what you can't do. And so Orlando decides that he can accept that someone can be a pirate & a good man (or something) & they all live happily ever after
So what am I rambling on about it? Well, in your own life I think it's what you can live with & what you can't. I can live with dust all over the tv, stereo etc etc but I can't bear stuff (fluff etc) on the floor (laminated flooring) So I rarely dust but I do hoover at least once a week. Then I feel happier cos to me it's clean again.
Does any of this make sense?@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -

This is my life and I add to it. It's called self-sabbotage and I suffer with it badly. Although in my normal list above I say I will sort uniforms etc etc, the likelihood is, yes I probably will sort 'most' of it, but I'll forget the shoes. Then in the morning there will be a blind panic as we will only be able to find one shoe, this will start off a chain of events, I will probably fall out with DS (who's shoe it normally is) for not taking shoes off at the same place at the same time, eventually find shoe, late leaving house, childminder then running late, traffic now bad because of lateness, late for work etc etc. And it's all my fault cos I didn't find the shoe the night before
