Hi,
My 20 yr old is starting his basic training at Bassingbourn in two weeks. What I need to know is,
A) a decent hotel where we can stay on the Sat night before he goes on the Sunday. Within a 20 - 30 mile radius
Any advice or tips on what he should take. We have got everything on the offical list!!
Thanks

You could try the Banyers Hotel or the Old Bull Inn http://www.theoldbullatroyston.co.uk/. Both are in Royston, a town about 7-8 mins drive from Bassingbourn. Quite a good location to be as close to Bassingbourn and there are restaurants etc. Sheene Mill is in Melbourn which is 10-15 mins drive away http://www.sheenemill.co.uk/. Next best is probably to stay in central Cambridge but that would be further to travel and more expensive. Hope this helps.0

There's also The Jester (thejesterhotel .co .uk).
I've never stayed there myself, but the food is not bad.0
