Claiming from Nationwide Section 75 - Do you have a copy of Dispute form?

I am trying to reclaim for Sky Europe flights (value £1k + as it was a group booking) paid for in April with my Nationwide Credit Card but due to be used in September just a few days after Sky Europe went bust.

I rang up about claiming a refund and they said they need to send out a dispute form and before they can do so I needed to pass security.

As I have never rung up my CC in the 4 years since I got it, I can't for the life of me remember what the password is so cannot get past security!

Therefore they won't send out a form to my home address unless I sort out security by going in branch (something I can't do until january as I'm out of the country until then - I planned to get a family member who lives with me to forward me the dispute form whenever it arrived there).

What I want to know is, do I have to claim using one of their forms for it to be a valid claim?
Why can't I do the whole thing by letter (using the Section 75 template on this site) and send proof with the letter?

Also when I rang up they said I have 120 day time limit to claim which means that by January it will be too late.
I don't get this, I read elsewhere that Section 75 has a limit of 6 years?

What can I do to get this moving as quickly as possible?

Does anyone have a copy of their dispute form?

Thanks

This is just delaying tactics by them !

You do not NEED to fill in anything supplied by them.

Just write them a letter outlining your case and reminding them that they are equally liable under Sect 75 etc, etc - that is all you have to do - if need be, remind them of that as well !

    You may find this useful:

PS: Don't forget that if you had to re-book on another airline and those tickets cost you more than the original sum, then you can claim the difference back as well.

Thanks very much for the reply and link moonrakerz.

It certainly does feel like delaying tactics, none of the staff were able to suggest that I could simply write a letter when I informed them of my predicament.

Can't for the life of me understand why they can't just put the form on their website (they have the debit version there) or email it to me or something.
Hardly a security issue to have a form is it?

Anyway I will write them a letter and provide all proof I can and hope that works!

Didn't realise at all that in this case re flights, I could claim for extra cost for re-booking!
We went to great lengths to find alternative flights that were cheap (cost about the same as what we'd paid with Sky Europe) however they were not at all convenient to catch and if I'd known we would have got more convenient but a lot more expensive ones.

Could we ask for compensation for the extra transport cost of getting to the airport?
Basically the flights was supposed to be from Bari in south Italy but the next closest, cheapest flights at such short notice were from Rome.
This however is approx 500km (!!) away and a minibus was hired to transport the group from Bari to Rome by road.

    Thanks.

Your original contract was to fly you from London (?) to Bari - if you could not get flights to Bari and had to go to Rome and hire a mini-bus to travel onto Bari, then you can certainly claim this.
Don't "ask" - "claim", this is what the Law says you are entitled to.

Don't be fobbed off - I claimed an additional £1000 from Goldfish when Maxjet went bust; initially they said I had to provide all sorts of (irrelevant) documents and also said that Mastercard was the "Law".
I pointed out (very politely !) that the Law was the Law Of The Land, not Mastercard and the documentation they asked for was not required to support my claim.

    They paid up !

Just write a letter. The only reason your credit card provider ask for a form is so they get your signature, allowing them the chance to chargeback the transaction - for which they have 120 days.

This doesn't affect your S75 rights but means the cc issuer can claim the money back from Sky Europe's bank, which is fair enough.
