Capital One - The Next Chapter!!!

Capital One, must be the hardest people I know!! I have even got my money back off NatWest and I thought they were hard!!
This story goes, and I thank everyone that has helped me with this, because without people like you out there, people like me would have given up and lost everything! Capital One offered me £681 approx, but I knew that I had paid more ppi than that! so I asked for the statements. Finally they have arrived and with the 2 cards I have (although they get paid by debtline now because I am in financial trouble) paid £1410.16 plus I have also paid late payment charges of £18 each, which I think is a bit much!

Does anyone know if I am entitled to all this money I have paid in, and if you think I should also get interest on this amount?

I would be grateful, this battle has been going on since approx February this year!!! and I just dont want to be the one that loses to Capital One!!!!

Thanks

Is the £681 a goodwill payment? How have they offered this to you? As the complaint has been going on a while did they ever give you the opportunity of going to FOS at any point? If they have paid you for misselling then you would be entitled to all the PPI back in effect and 8% statutory interest too. As you are on a debt plan are they one of your creditors?
  • Hi, I have just looked out the letter that they sent in response to me stating that they missold me the policy. In it they maintain the ppi was not mis-sold to me. However they state that they would like to bring it to a speedy conclusion and as a gesture of goodwill they offered me £615.46 (I thought this was £681! Must be going ga ga) They asked me to sign the form and return letter and the amount would be deducted from outstanding balance. No mention of fso or anyone.
I did not sign and it was then I asked for a breakdown of my statements.

Do you think I might have lost the fight, I hope not

tiggerthetiger, when did you first start to complain to them about misselling this to you? They would usually send a final response after 8 weeks are up and give you the opportunity of going to the FOS:confused:.
