hi long time ebayers!
Just some advice please. Have had - and still having! - a massive clear-up & clear-out! Got loads of bits, kids clothes and household stuff to sell - new and old.
Any ideas on what would be the cheapest way to list and sell? want to start putting stuff on monday while kids are at school and could do with
the money!
Was thinking about putting kids clothes selling each item for 99p each with 50p postage per item...?
Is it worth spreadng stuff out over a few days or just do a mad listing?
Is it worth/possible to sign up to auctivia for one month? - have already had the free trial and only put on 3 items - DOH!
sorry for all the questions, just want to get stuff sold!
thanks for taking the time to reply with any advice/suggestions!

If you have a lot of kid's clothes in the same size you could list as bundles to save having to do so many lisitings. Maybe as bundles of same brand?
Personally if I have a few items to liist, I'll do them at the same time - you can direct buyers to your other items and you may get more interest.
Bear in mind that even if you have your auctions finishing at the same time, you can still find yourself running to the Post Office everyday as not all buyers will pay immediately!
Good luck.0 -
 Don't just add 50p for postage. You'll lose money!
Weigh your item, (on top of any packaging) and work out the postage from RM website here... http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder?catId=23500532&gear=pricingcalc
Bear in mind tho,' that most clothing goes through as a parcel, so base your prices on that, not Large Letter!Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -
Also look at your profit margins before you list, if you list at 99p on a private account you won't pay listing fees but you will pay FVFs of around 10p plus paypal fees of at least 27p.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh, and if you're expecting to receive less than £12 inc P&P, it's cheaper to use a Paypal micro-account. (Details on Paypal site- unless another kind MSEer has a link?)
I have 2, (you need an email address for each,) and vary them according to what I'm selling, but you must remember to put the right one on your listing!

Hiya, I have found that if I start the auction for 7 days to finish on a saturday or sunday they do better, than finishing in the week. People like to watch their item etc. Clothes can be tricky, my daughters more designer stuff goes well like Monsoon, people love Next stuff, but a lot of normal stuff doesn't always sell well. Make sure you say if it's a pet/smoke free home people like to know. And remember the poundshop sells cheap jiffy bags

I'd never heard of this, and most of my stuff goes for under that. Just found details here I think -

I thought it was against Paypal rules to open two accounts, only 1 personal, 1 premier PER PERSON (unless you are a business?).
How have you managed to have 2 Premier pp accounts?0
