Will probably just run out the day before and pick up a couple of bouquets for the mothers, and something alcoholic for the fathers - and I anticipate someone shaped like my mother is probably going to attempt a hijacking on my bouquet (artifical flowers) no doubt.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

For the centre pieces (still a work in progress - so no pics yet!) once we've eaten, we're moving to the bar / disco area downstairs, so I thought we could pre make some gift lables ie-To Mum and Dad, a little momento of our day and thank you for all your help, then wait until they've cooled and go round to give people them individually, it will also give us chance to spend a couple of mins each with the people who have helped.
I really like the wooden roses and think they're a lovely momento, (and LOVE the purple!) I think it's nice to have something to keep.
We're a bit the same with fresh flowers, we're staying at the venue the night before, so would have to find somewhere near there, then they'll be hung around all day and (for my Mum) squished in the car for a couple of hours to travel home! So if I wanted Mum to have some I think I'll send some fresh ones on the Monday. My partners Mum hates cut flowers so we wouldn't have got them for her anyway.
I dont think i'll be having any fresh flowers! I'm currently looking at the bouquets that shellsuit has found on ebay, i think i'm going to get them and add thistles and tartan ribbon to them. i would prefer to get artificial, as i want to have time to work on them and add my own personal touches - why pay someone (florist) when you can do it yourself (i'm also using this logic on the cake, stationary, favours, cake and cake topper, wedding jewellery, tiaras and hair pieces!!!). Im pretty sure fresh flowers would be quite expensive, and just wouldnt last long (even though you can get bouquets preserved - another expense!!)
i love your felt and button flowers - so cute and unusual.:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000
