Economy 7 problems

Hi

I have just moved into a flat which has econ.7 heating.All the electrics work except the econ 7 heaters.I contacted electric company who state everything is set up ok.There is not a clock to set it but a radio transmitter at the meter board which is working ok.
I have set the heaters and put on the switch at night but in the morning the heaters are cold.
Any ideas?

We've had storage heaters in various houses over the years and here are some of the things that have almost caught us out. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious in some of them.

1 At your electric meter, apart from the obvious switch that puts your whole electricity supply on and off, there may be (not always) a separate switch that controls the off-peak supply.

2 Every heater will have its own on/off switch at the socket, not just on the heater itself.

3 If you've been having very hot weather, the thermostat on the heaters may be cutting off if you have only set them for a low setting. In our present house this happens in the hall heater, it thinks it is warm enough and takes in no power. To test it you would have to set for a very high setting for one night.

Can't think of anything else, but hope this may help.
