Hi all, Im new and this is my first post.
Now the darker colder nights are here its time for hearty meals, im just wondering if anyone has any idea what generally uses less electricity out of a slow cooker and a pressure cooker as a slow cooker uses a little electricity for a long amount of time and a pressure uses a lot of electricity for a short amount of time.
any ideas?

That's difficult to say without knowing how much electricity each uses and for how long.
You'd probably be better off asking in the Green and Ethical Board as some in there are very good at this sort of thing.0 -
You have to think about total cost and number of meals rather than cost of cooking only.
Cooking an extra 50% of rice costs minimal electric (rice cooker) but separately cooking the extra costs far more. Plus time costs and ease.0 -
We have just moved into a house with an electric cooker ,always had gas before ,I have found cooking takes much less power and is a lot more efficient than gas ( I was pleasantly surprised as I was really worried about using electric )
We bring veg ,rice, veggies ,spuds to the boil ,boil for a couple of mins ,then turn the ring off ( would normally leave on simmer with gas) they stuff cook in the same time it would normally ,even with power off ( so long as you dont lift the lid )0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. My question is, do you recommend the Remoska for saving electrickery whilst doing tasty cooking? The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
