Sorry I cannot remember the name for this kind of bidding (someone bidding on their own auction) but i have put a bid into this auction 7242174396 and someone has outbid me but what makes me scepticle is that the auction has only opened today and there is 6 days to go. the person who has out bidded me has never bought anything before and has been a member since the beggining of this year.
how can i tell if this person has bidded for anything else this seller is selling.
Is there any software to help you out with this kind of bidding.
Normally i dont bid until a few minutes before the end of any auction but something is ringing alarm bells in my head, Im quite sure the seller is genuine, thats not my prob its just the bidder who has come in the frame.
Thanks for your help.

go to advanced search (top right of homepage)
search on left click on Items by Bidder, enter bidder ID and click search:rolleyes: Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame.:j0 -
The person who has bid against you hasn't bid on any of the sellers other items at the time of this post. I used www.goofbay.co.uk/tools to check for you. The only prob I had is that the bidder has never bought anything before, yet has been a member for a about 5 months and has a zero rating, and was eager to get the bidding underway, rather than wait until the last few hours, days etc. I really want the item but was a little causious because you get sellers bidding on their own items with another user name. All the big powers they've silenced me. We all have to start somewhere. Maybe if they are a genuine newbie they don't realise that the best time to bid is in the last few minutes if their maximum hasn't already been reached
You know what your maximum bid is so just go to that, if shill bidding is taking place (but I don't think it is) then only pay what the item is worth to you. Maybe they want the item too and are putting early bids in as they might be away when auction ends or they have their eye on another item but don't want to win 2 the same so are seeing how high other bidders are willing to go.....the possibilities are endless.
I wouldn't worry too much about it.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Here is a working link to goofbay http://www.goofbay.co.uk/ebay_tools
I wouldn't worry, the seller has perfect feedback and this is the only thing that person has ever bid on.
The only bad thing i will say about this site is that it has made people paranoid. No offence.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0 -
yeah, i dont think you really have anything to really about!
we have all been in the same situation when we were new to ebay and bidding on items with no or low feedback! I think we need to give new ebayers a chance!
good luck!0 -
Did you really expect to get it for £15.00, seems like you need to get out more"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I think you may have missed some details on this auction - The SELLER has a feedback of over 150 @ 100% positive. I doubt there is any shennanigans going on.silkyuk9 wrote:Sorry I cannot remember the name for this kind of bidding (someone bidding on their own auction) but i have put a bid into this auction 7242174396 and someone has outbid me but what makes me scepticle is that the auction has only opened today and there is 6 days to go. the person who has out bidded me has never bought anything before and has been a member since the beggining of this year.Normally i dont bid until a few minutes before the end of any auction but something is ringing alarm bells in my head, Im quite sure the seller is genuine, thats not my prob its just the bidder who has come in the frame.
Bid what you can afford.
Wait till the last few hours then you know what you may be required to pay to win.
Use a snipe software if needed.
Ask the seller if they have more than 1
Check all the other sellers with the same model.
Enjoy ebay its fun.
