Egg - Rant

Is it just me or are Egg completely incompetent :mad:

Every time I have to deal with them they mess things up, from being unable to send a tax statement, to being unable to get through on the phone (probably everyone else phoning to complain), to being unable to activate a card, to expecting me as the customer to check that they have correctly linked my old and new accounts, I could go on but am so frustrated

Not just you they are on their last legs with me too.

On Wednesday they took just over £3000 by DD and on Thursday they sent me a message telling me my account is overdue:mad::mad::mad:

I rang my bank just to check they had claimed it then called Egg to see what they were playing at.

I asked for a call back from whoever was in charge who could explain why I had been sent that email and 24 hours later not a word. I am voting with my alternative cards, they are poached

I've had the same overdue message on my account, the full payment of the last statement is showing on my account, and they are asking me to pay the minimum payment towards a transaction that I made after my last statement . The payment isn't showing on my bank yet, but that may not have been updated.

It's a ridiculous situation, I have just spent the last 10 minutes messaging Egg & my bank to see what's going on

    Egg - "urgent message"

Still not heard from them

  • Applied for an online e Savings Account with them. 6 weeks later, they still haven't opened it. They said, when I rang, they have been overwhelmed by the response; my response was 6 weeks is, simply, total inefficiency. I told them my money was going elsewhere and it has-at a comparable rate.

I got this from them today:

    Dear Twopints

I'm so sorry that you've received this message, the message was sent to many of our customers in error.

I can see that we have collected your Direct Debit.

    Again, sorry for this inconvenience.

If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.

    Thanks for your message.
