Have been eating loads of beetroot, which a customer of ours keeps bringing from his allotment. Yummy!

    Beetroots

Beets are not only low calorie but also packed full of nutrients. They help protect our artery walls and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. It is one of the richest sources of folic acid and is also thought to help lower homocysteine levels in the blood. Beetroot also contains the mineral silica, which helps the body to utilise calcium, so is therefore important for musculo-skeletal health and reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Many people juice beetroot for its cleansing and detoxifying properties.

to echo everyone else here, yes, it turns your wee pink - and if you're not expecting it, it'll near give you a heart attack when you first see it!

Try not eating it for a couple of days and if you're still passing funny coloured urine, then see your GP just to be on the safe side

I have no experience of eating loads of beetroot, but I cannot think that it is healthy to eat two Weetabix at 8am and then nothing else until 6pm. Your blood sugar must have been in your boots! Sorry to sound judgmental.

I am a firm believer in little and often when it comes to food.

If I'd had 2 weetabix at 8am then I'd have had about 15 hundredweight of beetroot at 6pm!
I lurve lurve lurve beetroot. I did mention to DH the consequences of beets though when I made him eat it!
I often get red wee in the summer, more so if MiL hasn't pickled the beets first!!!!

Sorry for the indepth detail, but the doctor told me that beetroot can change the colour of your number 2 or 3. Hope this helps others at least.

2 or 3? As opposed to 1 or 2? Have I been doing it wrong all these years or is their a third one I don't know about and should see a doctor for?

I was initially a bit baffled by that too but then thought it was an alternative term for semen as food can alter the taste and smell of that so it seemed logical beetroot could colour it too. Maybe I am wrong but it seemed logical.
