There is a glimmer of hope.......I have been trying on my party frocks and lbds.........and it is amazing what even just a couple of lbs can do.....If I carry on being good and resisting all things yummy, then I could, quite possibly, get into one of my existing dresses. I even ventured into a lbd that I haven't worn for years.....in fact I have a choice of two lbds that I haven't worn for years, that I can do "understated elegance" with pearls at my neck and my ears.

I might even be able to justify buying a new pair of killer heels that I can team up with some hold-everything-in opaque tights and I might get away with having let myself get dumpy.

It is motivating - just need to stick with it. I can't justify much in the way of pampering beforehand, so have started using the moisturiser with a hint of tanning lotion in it, just so that my dinnerlady arms are not quite so shocking

Am quite excited now - not eating has never been so much fun :rotfl:

:T Good for you! It is amazing what a boost of motivation it gives you.
I'm in a similar position, usually at this time of year we have a tin of chocolates a day, at work. Last year I put on 1/2 stone in December alone :eek: This year I feel a bit lighter and determined to carry on!

When do you go on hols hypno?

The office party is on Friday night, and I go on hols on Saturday.........so only a few days left

Obviously when I am on holiday, I will NOT be watching what I eat and drink, but if I put back on the weight I will have lost before I go, then I won't be any worse off than I was a couple of weeks ago......It is the first time I haven't had to go self catering for years......I will be making the most of someone else's cooking :T

The dress is a bit tight, but it will do. Once I've applied the entire contents of my make-up bag, hopefully no one will notice:o

Will you be venturing for a run this weekend? I'm going for the "Friday 4" in the morning and fingers crossed the "Sunday 6".

Yes, running at the weekend, or at the very least a very long powerwalk DS is playing football in another town, and I am not sure what the facilities are like for specating mums, so will probably do something then.

There is a second hand sale of ski clothing etc, on Sunday, sort of a bring and buy, so I will be there all day saturday to see if I can get a few £££ for some of the stuff that has been outgrown, so not so much opportunity to run then.

Well done on the dresses Hypno - I have to admit to being deeply chuffed when I managed to get into a skirt & top I'd not worn for about 5 years for our speedway dinner & dance in October so I indentify with your feelings of glee!
