Using the cup when not paid for is theft...
I would never of come up with the idea..0 -
They DO occasionally ask to see the reciept,
they have asked me maybe... 2 out of 100 times i`ve refilled in the past
You could just tell him to say his mum/dad has the reciept and they are over the other side of the park, they will prolly just refill it anyway..
Or as other person said, buy another for a freind or somatt then use the same reciept to refill both, at seperate times of course.
Be aware though, they do change cups design most years,
so you prolly wont be able to use last years cup,
or this years cup-next year, if you get me...0 -
have to disagree with `Creased Leach`
I don`t think Alton Towers has much to offer the little ones at all
My 5 yr old soon got bored, and then upset when we told him he couldnt go on all the big rides he could see cos he was too small
Having said that... I had a whale of a time :j0 -

My then 8 yr old was also disappointed cos he was too small too. Had massive paddy like a two yr old cos he WANTED to go on rita, air etc It was such a nightmare we refused to do any theme park until he was tall enough. It also ruined my day as I had to stay with him and attempt to amuse him while OH and the older 3 did the rides. We started doing the theme parks again this yr as he is now tall enough0 -
When we went to Alton Towers at Easter, we purchased a refillable cup from a chap standing near the entrance carrying loads of them. When we weren't given a receipt I queried, and he said that I didn't need one as they could be used all year round. I was dubious, but we weren't asked for a receipt all day, we returned the next day and had no problem and we returned again in August for another couple of days with no problem. But although Chessington and Thorpe Park use the same cups they asked for the receipts everytime.0

Alton towers have NEVER asked me for a receipt. They change the cup style, sometimes mid-season so you can't always get a year's use out of it.
Alton is my 4 year old's favourite theme park. There's loads for him to do - it just depends on the ages and priorities of the other guests because it's huge and very spread out so it's not much fun waiting for rita or oblivion with nothing to do for little ones. if you can split into 2 groups, or the adults don't mind missing out on some rides then you can make it a very enjoyable day for young children, but drayton manor is better for a family day out where you stay together.
The parent swap pass is handy - one adult takes the little one to the kids areas of the park while the other goes on a big ride with the older kids and gets the ride operator to stamp the parent pass - the other adult can then take the parent pass straight up the exit when they want to go on the ride, and they don't have to queue
thorpe park and chessington always ask for receipts, but you could take your old cups and then just buy one new one that day, only paying for one new cup on each visit and sharing the receipt to get all cups refilled.52% tight0
