Sarahb, I love how you have a stash of stuff for your home already, i would love to do the same but I'm so fickle I wouldnt like any of it by the time I got a place.
I dont normally join in with the diet talk because I dont diet, (because when I do I get boring and obsessive) but I will be joining in with the exercise talk from now on, as I am signing up for the moonwalk 2010. So I will be boring you all by telling when and how far I have walked. I have till May to get up to 26 miles, which is loads of time, so I will be starting by walking to work 2 days a week (4 miles) and doing a short walk at the weekend. This weeknd I did a 3 mile walk near my house on Sunday, and today I walked to work. Next step is to send off my application and cheque.
Well done :j I would love to do it but don't think I would ever get fit enoughSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Thanks Shoe Gal, I have 5 months so I can build it up slowly over time, otherwise I wouldnt manage it either.
So far today, no exercise, my legs are still tired from swimming last night (struggling to co-ordinate my arms, legs and breathing, inhaled half the pool last night - oops!). But I will go for a half hour walk at lunchtime and will walk home tonight if I have the energy.
Sarahb - what about putting the bits you do like out somewhere for inspiration? Like - 'I'm putting my coins in the pot so I can have a dining room to go with those pasta bowls'Debt free date - 4th December 2008 :j0 -
Good evening... I've just read the last 10 pages as we finally have internet in our house! I'm so happy! How's everyone, I've been lurking and reading a great thread on OS about keeping the house warm in winter, so I've made a draught excluder for the cellar door and finished the beading on the hallway to stop draughts. Going to line my curtains next, I hate been cold and living on my own it seems a bit extravagant to have the heating on all the time.
Must share my good news, I've been asked to help out in a different deptartment cos there short staffed, and I've got to plan my work to 2 others so when I get back to my job in the afternoons I won't get a backlog of work, really looking forward to tomorrow, I need a change, and we do staff sales and I'm doing one as a favour, and I'll be getting some money as a thank you.0 -

Good news on the job eco
I've just checked my bank balance and I seem to have more than I thought. I have done several cash-in-hand jobs over the last few weeks though and did get some birthday cash so maybe I just haven't spent much on my account??? Will need to investigate methinks. The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Hello hello
I'm back from Iceland (no, not the shop...ho ho ho)
I had a fab time but spent waaaay too much!! it is quite pricey over there and I bought a few presents for my family (and myself)....
We went to the Blue Lagoon spa which was amazing - 0 deg outside but in the water it was about 28deg...so I was in my swimsuit running from the building to the pool so fast!!
I also made it home from airport in super speedy fashion by taking Heathrow Express which is £18 :eek: but from plane landing to me opening front door was 90 mins which is unheard of usually and I couldn't face the pain at 8pm on a Weds when I was working the next day!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
