I've been away for one evening and there's 4 pages to catch up on!
Back after I've caught up. Meant to say Souk, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum, must be awful to see her like that, but you have an amazing attitude to it all :A

Hi Gwen
Have you been somewhere nice?Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Lula, I have checked the boots and they are only reduced by £20 so not a bargain. I think you should just try to get by with what you have for now (I also want a pair of black knee high boots, however I can't do the zips up on any of them- the shame:o:o:o) and reward yourself when you get the cc under £4k. There will always be boots. There will always be more bargainous boots. And I think that the feeling of getting your card under £4k will be better than the feeling of owning a new pair of boots.
I am currenty pining after a beautiful radio which is £150. I can put it on the cc and have it today. But I already have a functioning radio, it's just not a swoonworthy one. So I have decided that it will be my reward for clearing cc and for now I will manage with what I have. In the meantime I have a picture of it on my visionboard to spur me on. When I clear the cc I will either buy it (partly funded by nectar points) or I will have changed my mind by then. The point is that if I get it now I will feel guilty about it as I shouldn't be buying things when I want to get myself in credit but if I wait until I can afford it with my own money I will get much more enjoyment out of it.
My point is we are all skint and it's crap. I am determined to stop living like this, I can't stand it anymore. I am trying to get to a point where I can buy my own stuff with my own money and stop thinking of the space I have on my cc as available money. It isn't. I want to get to a place of no cc, no loan, a nice amount of savings and a healthy current account balance. I am not going to get there if I keep being waylaid by radios, boots, shoes, clothes, coats, underwear and all the other lovely things I deserve. That's how I got here in the first place.
Good God, what have you done with Sarahb??
Seriously though, you are doing great!! You sound so determined and in control, it's fab.Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
