Question about postal orders

I have sold a PSP game on Ebay and the buyer has sent me a postal order.
The correct amount is printed on and everything, but where it says pay it's just got "***". Will it still be accepted at the bank with a handwritten name on?
I wouldn't want to send the item out yet, in case there's a problem.
Also, can you cash postal orders at the post office?

If the PO is uncrossed then you can cash it at the Post Ofice but if it has been crossed (just like a cheque) then you have to pay it into a bank account and wait on it clearing. Don't post your item until you have the cash (either in your account or in your hand).
I can't help you with the name part but the bank or Post Office should be able to advise. Don't write anything on it until someone can clarify for you incase they don't accept it.0 -
Hi there.
It's uncrossed, so I will take it to the Post Office tomorrow and see if they will cash it.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270 -
The post office let me cash it no problem. Just had to write my name in the pay column and sign the back.
So I was able to send the parcel straight off.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270
