Just wanted to let you know where the discount has increased for the fixonline prices, this does apply to new and existing customers.

I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to [email protected] This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"
Does this also mean that E-on can decrease the discount on this tariff at any time too?
Meaning its a fixed price tariff but could possibly go up by 20% due to the discount being withdrawn?
FixOnline offers the discount until at least 1st December 2010, this is also when the unit prices are fixed until.

Plushchris - EON have clearly 'tweaked' the discount on FixOnline 3 to ensure that it stays at the top of the Comparison Websites list.
As I thought, and as Helena has confirmed, as EON have altered an existing product to the benefit of customers, they have applied it to everyone on the tariff whether they signed up before or after the tweak.
Clearly they won't decrease the discount to customers detriment, as that would defeat the reason of signing up to a fixed plan.
Well done EON for being consistent, and for not pulling the usual trick of launching a new product version with the lower rate.

....... until I read the press release:
http://pressreleases.eon-uk.com/blogs/eonukpressreleases/archive/2009/10/02/1448.aspx
and realised that my region (Eastern) is one of three where the discount is NOT being changed (Eastern, Norweb & East Midlands)
So much for the energy sites which were stating that this discount was increasing 'across the UK'....
I think there is a bit of confusion around this, I will try and clear it up.
The Eastern and East Midlands areas increased the amount of discount from 24 September, the other areas that increased the discount was effective from 2 October 2009.
Therefore Eastern and East Midlands did not increase it again.

The discount changes on 23rd September were for East Midlands and Yorkshire regions, NOT for Eastern according to several change logs on energy saving websites.
Therefore Eastern region online discount is still at 13.4%, unchanged from when I transferred to the tariff on 21st September.
If there was a reduction in Eastern Region on 24/9/09 then please let me know, as it looks like the increased discount has not been applied to my account......
