How do I balance transfer from my card to my husbands?

Hi I have put £1800 onto my Egg card as our car needed a new engine - it was an emergency as my husband needed the car for work (this is the reason I have the credit card for unforseen events - I don't usually use it). It is an Egg card and I will get charged a lot of interest around 15%. I need to get the balance off it onto a 0% card asap and have been given one by Virgin but only with an £800 limit.
My husband has been given a Virgin CC with a £10000 limit. Can anyone suggest how I can balance transfer my Egg card to his Virgin one. The egg card is only in my name. Would making him just an additional card holder on my Egg card work. I am not working at the monemnt (full time mummy) so will struggle to get a high enough limit in my own name I think. Any other suggestions welcome so I can avoid paying interest for as long as poss. thanks

Just get your husband to request a balance transfer and give your Egg card details - Virgin won't care that the Egg card is not in his name.

Absolutely. You can switch credit card balances to family, friends or Dave down the pub. It's not necessary to make your husband an additional card holder.

He may be asked for the name on the card, but this is purely an additional verification check. At the end of the day, Virgin is after his business. The card company is not really interested in knowing who ran up the debt, as long as he pays up on time each month ;)
