recorded being delivered without signature

Yes I know this is getting to be my pet rant but I've just about had enough. It is bad enough that recorded items that I send are delivered without any attempt to get a signature but my inward mail is now being left sticking out of my letter box with no attempt at all at a signature being taken.

I've just phoned RM and given them some tracking numbers that I have here for items I have receievd that show online as merely 'received' by PO. Unfortunately they have all my details of course and are going to raise a serious complaint which means i doubt I will ever see my post again in one piece as the Post man will know it is me who complained.

It is getting out of hand though, these are mainly ebay items and the poor sellers are wasting their 75ps.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Grrr grrr grrr

    With you on this one!

About 25% of mine don't track online and the ones I receive the postman just sticks through the letterbox without even attempting a signature.

Hope you do get your mail in one piece still....

This really annoys me as well. Surely RM have to get a signature? Things I have sent out recorded delivery in the past were just left out in the open without anyone signing for them.

Another thing that annoys me is if they do take the item away and don't leave one of those "we called and you were out please pick up your parcel" cards.

Worse personal delivery of mine was by a courier company that had left a parcel in my driveway which I ran over (middle of car so no damage thankfully).

This has happened to me as well - although the postman was kind enough to sign for it himself so I didn't have to bother...

Usually they just drop things over our fence to get a good soaking from the rain.

If they don't get a signature surely they've failed to deliver a paid for service and should be refunding the 75p ?

probably tricky to enforce for individual items but if you had several mount up....

Alot of my items recently, when I've gon online to track them, are still showing as being accepted at my local post office so they're not even tracking them at all, never mind getting a signature!

They usually refund via a book of stamps, so sellers can make a profit. I reclaim all my outwards unsigned for recorded items in batches.

Recorded is not tracked it only has two status', one is received the other delivered. The 1st usually shows online but my experience is that it rarely gets updated beyond that so a paypal claim will be lost by a seller.

No take the stamps. For each one I usually get a book of 10 1st class stamps which is worth £3.90! That's a lot better than a straight 75p.

Soolin, are you sure it is '10' 1st class stamps? Every time, they send me 6 1st class stamps?

Thats a good point about the stamps, i hadnt thought about it like that.

Last time i sent a claim for an item not delivered which was sent recorded delivery they just sent me 6 stamps which didnt even cover the cost of the item let alone the postage to post the item! oh well.

    Its getting annoying though

I sent something last sat recorded delivery and its still showing as being at my local post office

the buyer emailed me today asking why they hadnt received it, so i had a look and there postcode is affected by the strikes and royal mail says its taking an extra 4 days for their post so ive told them what i know and asked them to wait a few more days, they seem happy with that just wanted to know if it had been posted
