girlfriends fiesta zetec 1.25 smokes for 10 minutes when you start it up, especially under acceleration then clears itself, it'll be fine until you turn off again. Leave it for any more than 5 mins, start up again and it'll smoke again. Could this be worn valve stem oil seals? and can they be replaced on this model (S reg, 1.25 zetec, 16v) without removing the head?

Have you done a compression test of the cylinders? Not sure if its a head off job or not, but would you not want to replace the top end gaskets at the same time?

ok first basic question, has it got too much oil in it.???

it is possible to change valve stem seals without taking the head off but its not realy a diy job, but also most garages would want to take the head off anyway.

it could also be the piston rings.

or as simple as a blocked breather pipe (not very likely)

i would recomend you look into a ford forum to see if its a common problem.
