sports sponsorship for my child
my nine year old is one of the best in the country at a particular sport a collegue with his own web design type company has offered to sponsor him...how do we go about this
what do we as his parents need to do
what does the sponsor have to do
what are the implications if any??
any advice atall will be greatly appreciated
on paper it is an offer too good to miss as even at the tender age of nine he is missing out on opportunities due to lack of funding that we can give him
all christmas and birthday pressies go towards this but excess funds are needed so he is not at a disadvantage
he really is talented and already we are finding that others are getting more experience coaching proper clothing and equipment etc and yet our son although he has the talent is already losing out so to speak...he puts in hours of training and it just seems a shame that he will potentially lose out
someone has said they are inteseted in sponsoring him but really do not know where to go from here
thanks guys

If there is an official body for your son's sport, then I would start by contacting them.
I'm sorry for any typos but my keyboard's gone weird. I'm sure just now I said some more, like also contact your son’s club if he’s a member of one.
There was also a discussion on a very similar topic a little while ago, I can’t remember if it was in Families or Discussion Time (maybe started in Families and moved to Discussion!) but a search for sport sponsorship might be worthwhile!Signature removed for peace of mind0
