OTT postage but only 5 have left

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Congratulations-Wedding-Me-You-Bear/dp/B0027W44SS/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&s=kids&qid=1254458610&sr=1-24

Would you buy this with £2.99 postage?

Surely only a stamp would be needed or large letter stamp at most madness
For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.

Postage is set by Amazon not the seller, so anyone selling on Amazon need to be aware of that.

If you look under books for instance you will see many items at 1p, that's because sellers take into account the postage credit when they list.

I wonder how amazon sellers will take to people querying and judging their P&P charges in the same way buyers do on ebay?

This could create a very interesting split between the two platforms...

Well the card seems to be priced as what I'd expect
but really but £2.99 for a stamp and envelope.
Surely if amazon have set the prices the seller could reduce the cost of the card to make it more reasonable. £6.74 seems an awful lot for just a card the seller must be making a lot.

Yes; but why would you want to reduce the price if people are buying it?

People are used to paying flat rate postage in Amazon.
Why on earth would someone VOLUNTARILY reduce their prices?
If it's not worth that much, then people will undercut them. If no-one undercuts them, then the market has determined the value.
