Have you bought a Dell Inspiron 1300? Miss having a volume control?

I recently bought my wife a Dell Inspiron 1300 (the ones on offer for under £399). It's a cracking laptop but with one omission. It's got no external volume control which means you have to keep clicking on the sound icon in the task bar to change the volume setting. NOT very convenient!
So I did a quick search for an alternative and found SoundVolumeHotKeys at http://www.softarium.com/soundvolumehotkeys/.
This is a tiny but great piece of software which, once loaded, enables the user to use the Windows key plus the UP/DOWN keys to alter the volume quickly and easily. Best of all its FREE.
Hope it helps all you Inspiron owners.

I'm very suprised that dell don't have a volume control built-in, it usually consists of using the function key and page down or cursor down or a combination thats similar.0

Yeah I am on mine now and you hold fn + page up/ page down to change volume. If you have quickset or mce installed you get an onscreen volume control. So just to make it crystal clear:
fn key + page up key = Volume +
fn key + page down key = Volume -

Thanks J400uk, we didn't know. Should have read the online manual, doh! :-)0
