I've got a cable and wireless dect phone - model CWD 8500 - with colour display and a headset that comes with it (single ear-piece). I use the headset lots and never had any problems-reception is perfect. Headset jack slots into a port on the side of the phone and headset is the size of portable device earphones - e.g. mp3, cd, mini disk. It also comes with a belt clip so you can attach the earpiece in your ear, the phone to your belt and you're handsfree.

It also has speakerphone, alarm, 2 seperate phone books for storing business and private contacts and a baby monitor(-??? I don't know why!). I bought it approx 4 yrs ago for £40, but it's probably come down in price since then.

    See this link CWD 8500

It's always performed well and reception is perfect. I've quickly googled a link for you so you'll prolly find more info and lower price with a further google. It's a fab phone.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I've had a BT Synergy 3505 for longer than the Doro - no headset jack, but does the business and takes any rechargeable AAA batteries as well (the Doro has a proprietary battery pack).

Thanks Urban Spirit - you wouldn't know from the advert that you could use it with a headset though. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! they seem to push all the stuff you'd expect anyway and ignore the bit that would actually make it stand out!

(the Thanks button isn't available on your post by the way - must be a midnight thing...)

My thoughts exactly! I think the headset's a strong selling point but didn't find much reference to it when I googled the phone. The only reference in the link says 'handsfree'! Boy do they know how to sell

(Hey, my thanks button's back, press me press me
