Unfair parking fine advice needed

I have just noticed a council parking fine on my car because the one bay I parked on (even though the bays are not individually marked) was apparently suspended yesterday 30th Oct. This space is far away to where I normally park outside my home because the next entire road was suspended and I had to park in that one spot that was available on Sunday 27th Oct. I didn't notice any signs on Sunday and because I don't use my car during the week I couldn't check on it but still they should give advance notice.

I called them up and they said the signs were put up 11 days ago and they have a pic with a sign next to my car but then there is nothing near my car to place this sign. Does anyone think I have a good case to appeal? And should I still pay the £50 fine so it doesn't go up to £100 and if it turns out it was unfair I can have it refunded back?

So annoyed!!

Any help appreciated. Thanks

  • You have the right to appeal the parking fine. As long as you have the appeal in within 14 days it is in Glasgow but you will have to check where you live the fine will not increase they have to prove they have photographs. The council tried that with me last year saying they had a picture of my car not displaying a badge I clearly put on. When they had to present the photo. It was blurred showing just the number plate and the bonnet of the car. There was no indication of where it was parked and what time the picture was taken. They could not use it as evidence.

    Good Luck

I would register with www.pepipoo.com and post a new thread, showing pictures of the bay lines (and signs if still there), and scans of the front and back of the PCN (with personal and car ID blanked out).

Once you've registered and read some forum threads, start your own thread. Good luck, don't waste any time as the clock is ticking for wording your appeal...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
