Dixons Premium Delivery Refund Rights?

Long story short, needed to get a printer cartridge at extremely short notice for the office and Dixons were only available supplier.
Ordered Tuesday and missed the slot for same day as I ordered too late so took Thursday slot (£9.50 delivery premium) for a 1-5 slot (as it fitted in with office hours)
I waited until 6 and the parcel didn't show up.
Called Dixons later on and was told it was delivered at 8pm but returned to depot as no-one was present. I asked if I could be refunded for the premium delivery and they point blank refused saying the issue was with DPD and not Dixons
Yet as I made the call I hadn't recieved my goods and all the money was paid to Dixons
So are they right? Do I have to chase DPD for the £9.50 refund?

Nope. Chase Dixons for it. DPD may have done the delivery, but it's Dixons who your money, and contract, is with. If they insist on DPD doing the refund, get them to contact them.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
