barclycard paid the refund to my credit card which has a zero balance i asked for a cheque they said they could not do that but they asked for my bank details and the money was there i 3-4 working days

They have to credit the account with the refund first then draw the cheque from the refund. It's so the audit trail can see where the refund came from. A cheque will follow don't worry.

I'm not sure that this is their intention with this one as they also sent us a letter informing us that our credit limit has been reduced so if they refund the credit to the card then we will be sitting way over our credit limit.

Sent a letter recorded delivery today so I will keep eveyone updated.
