Rant about www.beautifulbabycards.co.uk located in france?!?!

Just a bit of rant about this company as it will make me feel better.
My wife and I came across this company while goggling "birth announcement cards" to find a company to make up 50 birth announcement cards to announce the birth of our daughter Alice, born 12th of September 2009.
After comparing the price on the website front page with a few others we decided to 'jump in' and design our card. The website itself is pretty good and we spent an hour happily swapping pictures, backgrounds and text on the design template until we got one we liked. Then when we went through to order......
The first of many things to chesse us with beautiful baby cards was that at the order summery page the site added £15 for 5 day express delivery, the only delivery option! and then added VAT at the final checkout so the cost jumped from what looked to be £52 plus postage to £73!!
I know, I know, I know at this stage we should have just backed out and found another website but we had just spent an hour designing the card, were absolutely shattered as you can imagine with a week old baby and just wanted to tick it off the list of things to do before the next feed. So we went ahead and ordered thinking at least it's a one off cost and the cards looked good.
That was on 19.09.09. We got a paypal confirmation straight saying the payment had gone to a Jean-Pierre Manguian in france but nothing from beautifulbabycards website. 3 days later we still had no acknowledgment from beautifulbabycards so emailed them for some reassurance. Nothing. The 24.09.09 came and went and still nothing. I emailed again on the 26.09.09, 28.09.09 and finally on the 30.09.09 to advise in the absence of any replay I had no option but to cancel the payment with paypal.
I am waiting for paypal to get back to me and refund my payment from Jean-Pierre Manguian and in the meantime have ordered via another vendor.
Just to warn other new parents NOT to use beautifulbabycards if they don't want to add to the stress levels that come with a new born. I'll update you with any progress but I'm not expecting them to arrive anytime soon.
Would be interested if anybody else has had the same experience with these clowns?
Think i feel better now....

Shouldn't people be sending cards to you and not the other way around?0

lol, that what my dad said.
Most people I know over here that have had babies in the last few years do it. My wife's from Switzerland and it's tradition over there as in the rest of Europe. Guess it's crept across the pond?!?! It's a nice way to say thanks for the cards and messages of congratulations we receive plus send a picture out to all those that live away from friends and family.
Anyway, not really the point.0
