I've had a couple of Deliveries from Farmaround north. The food is delicious and I mut say that their tomatoes are the most tasty tomatoes I've ever had (so we order extra every week). I had a letter from them yesterday of a Trial offer of 25% off for the 1st 4 weeks when I submit a reqular order. Which I rang them to take up today.
  • I like farmaround because they are the only box scheme that really tries to make a difference for animals...no chickens killed off, no cows sent to the abbatoir...they pension them off.

But they do seem inefficient...the packers give you 3 bananas in the pick your own option; a delivery may not arrive on the day prescribed; the order may not have something ordered while bearing no reference to it's absence. Now they can't deliver in my area unless I do the mail order version...I will soldier on with them as they mean so well!

I have been persevering with them for almost a year because there's no where else I can buy cruelty free eggs and dairy. I am considering however cancelling and just giving up these foods for good, as I have had to complain/get a refund of some description on about 75% of my orders from them. Things I didn't order turn up and I am charged. The van has broken down and I could not get in touch with them and received no info for 2 days. This was while we were on holiday in a village with no shop, so we needed the milk! Last time I received completely different things to what I ordered. I have also received milk which already seemed 'off'. Every invoice seems wrong. To be honest, it appears to be the lady at the office who is making mistakes, from the feedback I've had. The lady who runs the company seems sick of her :o

I find this all very annoying because I really believe in what the company stands for and I really WANT to buy from them, despite the higher prices. I sometimes feel like they don't want my business...

  • I am so pleased its not just me being unreasonable. Yesterday there was no 'pick your own' in my £5.99 mail order delivery...costs more now as they don't come my way. There was the 'pick your own' order on my screen but on complaining, not on theirs...what is wrong with their system?! It was the same last week with my whole meal flour...on my screen but not theirs.

So is it down to their web site and their packers? I was offered a return of my £5.99 and a free gift. They are so so inefficient!! I hate having to check my order...and if I do this the next day forget it...it has disappeared off my screen.
  • The problems persist...especially with the 'pick your own' bit. How can Abel and Cole get it so right and Farmaround don't? Maybe kind and idealistic does not go with super organised and managing people...is it the packers, those that check what is packed, admin who knows.? Whatever...I think my time is up with them now...they have had ample opportunities to get it right with me...ample explanations from me of what is wrong so they have a chance to put it right.

I so want them to survive, and be efficient.
  • Have now returned to Abel and Cole. They have said they will look into slaughter free options...we will see. Feel a certain kind of disloyalty, and do miss Farmaround despite their abiding inefficiencies...I am inclined to think it is mainly caused by the delivery person...think my bag was there but got given to someone else. None of my 'pick your own' was right last time with them,..thought they had got the celeriac right at least only to find it was a small cabbage on closer inspection!!

This is so disappointing to read, I was just about to give them a go but I definitely don't have the time to keep check of every order and complain. Their cruelty-free dairy seems to be unavailable too.
