Does anyone use or know anything about this company? I've been watching what is in the bags for about 3 weeks and I think I'd like to go for it and place a fruit, veg and egg order every week.
They deliver bottled organic milk too, but only once a week which is a shame because I don't fancy a week's worth of milk getting left out in the sun if I'm out.
Wow and my link even shows how lazy I was in typing the name into the google bar instead of typing in the whole thing! Must work out how to do these new links...

Id be interested to know how long a bag lasts for, I don't mean how long it lasts before going off, I mean how many days of meals it last for??
I wouldn't know what size bags to go for..do you think the bags for 2 people would stretch to feed 4 (2 adults 2 small children)
Anyone who knows...please tell!love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
I imagine I'll have to plan carefully when the bag comes in to make sure I've used up the things that are likely to go off, at least by cooking and freezing them for the end of the week?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I thought it looked good. I've emailed them asking about quantities because we love our veg. When's your box due GR?I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

My farm delivery experience
It's a month since I began using a farm delivery service.
We've had tasty artichokes from a co-operative in Spain, sweet tomatoes from Sicily and carrots from Kent.
The service, with https://www.farmaround.co.uk, has been reliable, cheaper than organic fruit and veg in supermarkets and it tastes better... "
Not my words, but found this here:
http://anmblog.typepad.com/this_is_money_blog/2006/05/post.html
and this " Proper Fruit & Vegies
I mentioned in my last post that I ordered a whole pile of organic vegies from a place called Farmaround. Well yesterday they arrived! ...............We actually did a taste test between the organic galia melon and a tesco's galia melon - the tesco melon, frankly, tasted like crap! Im totally sold on this whole weekly surprise delivery..... "
here: http://www.yahnyinlondon.com/2005/08/proper-fruit-vegies.html
and "What we have recently done is sign-up to a weekly delivery from https://www.farmaround.co.uk which supplies organic British produce at (we think?) reasonable prices. Each week the selection varies, depending on what is in season and so far we have not been disappointed. We receive the "mini bag" which is supposed to be enough for one person for a week, but the name is misleading—a huge sack arrives filled with all sorts. ......It is especially comforting to see produce as it is before it has been polished, waxed, sprayed and made uniform by the supermarkets."

All the above found using Googles Blogsearch (very useful for finding peoples opinions on products, servicces, etc):

I also found a site called Laverstoke Park butchers shop today after reading a story on their Hebridean lamb winning an award:
http://www.laverstokeparkbutchersshop.co.uk/acatalog/index.html
As well as the Lamb they do biltong, buffalo, wild boar, sausages, beef, pork and chicken etc as well as Organic Vegetable & Fruit Boxes. I think I may have to try the lamb as I have heard good things about Hebridean lamb...
By the way, if you live in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover they do free delivery and they are also having an open day some time next month. "..Delivery will be FREE of charge for Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover.
We delivery each Thursday to Basingstoke area and each Friday to the Winchester and Andover area.
For the Local delivery, orders must be placed by 17h00 on Monday for the same week delivery...""The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Thanks. I think I'll place an order to start next week. I'll let you know what it's like.
I'm thinking of the standard veg box and the luxury fruit one because my son is fruit mad. The eggs are reasonable and local so I'll get them too.
I'll pass on the info about the meat to my parents as they are interested in getting a meat and veg delivery so thanks again.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Hi
I am a long term customer of Farmaround and am totally happy with their veg bags, less happy with their fruit bag - sometimes they are unripe and I find them less good value than the veg. and sometimes there are fruit that my family will just not touch, such as mango (always under-ripe and then it goes rotten, without getting ripe at all) or kiwi which nobody likes very much here.
FArmaround are always very good, punctual with their delivery and they have a lot of lovely extras that can be ordered, they even have a bulk-buy facility which is really great and money-saving (I do not use it because I do my own bulk-buy thru my business, but others who have used them really recommend it).
I get around the fruit problem by ordering their individual bags of 1kg (bananas, oranges, apples) and supplement it with forages to the Farmers' market for extra apples and pears and other fruit when in season.
Farmaround customer services are a pleasure to deal with and their driver (the one who delivers to my area) is very nice.
I have never had a problem that hasn't been rectified, either by taking the charge off or in one case they gave me 25% discount on my next shopping - which was my Christmas shopping and saved me a fortune - to apologise for a mistake they had made the week before.
A total winner, I'd say, go for it!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
That's really helpful, thanks. I'll try the small size fruit bag first and take it from there!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
