Err they will probably give you store credit, But no receipt usually means no refund, Take it to Game/Gamestation and do a trade in, Might get some cash that way, Or money off a new game.

IMO Refund not a chance without any form of proof of purchase. Exchange perhaps at there discretion, but would imagine you would need to know the exact date and rough time you purchased as most computer generated sales are logged.

The number of unscrupulous people who steal games then try to return them for a full refund is quite high. They're unlikely to give you a refund without a receipt for this reason.

If you opened it and it was faulty, it would be swapped for the same title. If you had proof of purchase.

The trouble is, you can buy these games from anywhere. How do Argos know it was them that sold it?

If it's still unopened but you have no receipt, and it has the Argos cat number on it, they will give you the lowest price the item has been sold at on a gift card or to exchange.

If it has no cat number on the plastic then it wasn't sold from Argos.
