Boiler leak - can anyone help?

I've a Worcester boiler which seems to have sprung a leak last night. There's a brown coloured fluid dripping from the bottom of the bolier when in use.

Being a bit handy, I've opened it up and I'm fairly sure that the leak is coming from the part shown below (circled in red on the middle RHS of the photo).

Could anyone please tell me what this is and whether I can fix it myself?

It looks like the automatic air bleed valve, I have known people take them off disassemble and clean out all the grot under the valve successfully, but you have to isolate the water supply to the boiler first!
Fitting a new one would be a certain fix for your problem, usually they just unscrew with a spanner.
