Help with washing machine please

My machine is now about 4 years old (whirlpool) and for the past 6 months hasnt been washing too good to the extent that stains are not coming out but the stains were not the bad ones like beetroot etc just normal stains but the machine is just not taking them out, even the baby clothes some milk stains remain and im washing these every second day sometimes everyday, and my t shirts are not cleaning too (underarms) to the extent i thought i had a problem:o can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

Because shopping on sunday in makro we saw a great hotpoint machine with a huge drum and hubby says yes to it BUT when the one we have gives up so i really dont think he will believe me if i tell him now about the machine he will think i just want the new one:rolleyes:
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I too am lusting over the hotpoint machine with the huge drum and i'm looking for any excuse to ditch my current machine (zanussi) which is in perfect working order and will probably go on working forever, knowing my luck.

Be aware that Hotpoints are now rebadged Indesits.
IMO you would be far better off with a Bosch or Siemens machine.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Does anybody know if the Beko brand of washing machine is any good, and who the brand belongs to ?
e.g. Indesit is made by the same manufacturers as Hotpoint.

My family have had two Indesits, the first one lasted 22 years (we don't know what was wrong with it just chucked it, perhaps that was a bad idea, and we should have repaired it) the second one has been passed between households and is now 15 years old and doing 4 -5 washes a week.

My daughter had a Beko washing machine it was a load of rubbish. It had to have a new motor fitted after 6 months, again the motor failed just after 12 months, ended up scrapping the machine.
The repairer also stated they were rubbish and changed no ends of motors in them.

    Hi

Regarding the good, the bad and the ugly have a look at http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/.

IMHO, Hotpoint tend to require new drum bearings every couple of years, and with their current range of machines the parts alone cost over £200. I replaced a Hotpoint with a Hotpoint because they were the only manufacturer that put wheels on their machines, big mistake, after only 2 1/2 years the bearings needed to be replaced. Luckily it has a 5 year parts warranty and a fixed call-out charge of £90. Hopefully the bearings will need replacing again just before its 5th anniversary, and not just after.

Take a look at LG, I've had a couple of people in the trade recommend them, but have yet to investigate them myself.

do as wash on 90 degerees no cloths in and no powder to clean the machine out also clean the filter at the bottom of it before you do the 90 degree wash and after to remove any gung after the wash.

might not do the trick but for free its worth a try also check that the hole that lets the washing powedre out isnt blocked and this may be stopping the detergent doing its job of cleaning.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
