Right,
Following on from another of my threads;
I have a 12 month contract with BT, the line was fitted Tuesday at a cost of £123.
I don’t need the line anymore (Sky told me I needed one, but then I can’t get sky, so gone with virgin media).
when speaking to virgin they said BT are legally obliged to give a 18 day cooling off period, so I could cancel my contract with BT.
BT say (and this is how I read it) that when I signed up and arranged an engineer to come to install the line I have up until midday the day before that (Monday just gone) to cancel and thereafter I am entered into a 12 month contract.
So, how is telling porkies.
BT or Virgin
Both say they are correct
many thanks
B

You placed an with BT, they have supplied what you ordered and you are bound by the terms of the agreed contract. I think that you should ignore what Virgin have told you. Why couldn't you get Sky? Do you mean that you couldn't get Sky on a free installation deal?:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi BurnsieUK,
Just a quick note to clarify that any customer has up until noon the day before their service is to become active to cancel their order.

Jon.

My money was on Virgin from the start because of the 18 days thing. A very odd figure.So, how is telling porkies.

Both say they are correctTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
