How do we find out whether a policy would get a payout or not?
My DD has a life insurance (LTA) with them, which she's held since late 2003 - but I know for sure she was never asked about the payout thing as all mail related to it comes to my house (she lived here when the policy was started).

Who was eligible for the reattribution?
Only with-profits policies invested in the former CGNU Life and CULAC With-Profits Funds were eligible. This included NUL RBS policies and Aviva Life International Ltd with-profits bonds.
We wrote to all eligible policyholders to confirm their eligibility for a reattribution in December 2007 and sent election mailing packs in June and July 2009.
If you had a (with profits?) policy at CU or maybe one of the other co's Aviva took over, there should have been a couple of letters and a vote card through your door by now.
Only worth voting yes (just imo- i am not a financial advisor, etc!) if you have already got payout / policy was transferred out..
anyone with onging policies should really get proper advice.
I had a staff scheme pension that I transferred to CU when I joined, but the job didnt last long.. boogers put a real low transfer value on when i moved back (was 'mis-sold', by my own staf sales peeps!
so this, for me, is a great bonus for xmas.
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

From what I have read so far about this daylight raid on part of my pension funds, it would appear that AVIVA have moved or plan to move my funds without my permission into something I didn't sign up for. This seems to me to be in breach of FSA rules although I will admit I do not spend much of my day analysing them.
Are FSA rules worth anything at all in 2009?
Should I now perhaps take the latest High Court judgement as my cue to set up shop as a bank and/or insurance company and/or intermediary and do what I like without fear of FSA impeding my operation in any sense at all?
Does anyone know what AVIVA think they will now do or are obliged to now do to safeguard and grow my With Profits funds?

"Never, in the field of banking bailouts, has so much been owed by so few, to so many."
Anon.
TBH we have hardly been obviously affected. Our local delivery office is not very unionised.
