IVA Question

I am currently applying for an IVA and have had all the paper work through etc. I think i have asked this before but can't remember, so apologise if i have!!
My IVA is going to be assisted by my partner's income, but if he hopefully gets a job in the future and will therefore obviously get an income increase, will this mean that he will have to contribute more towards the IVA? I know it's and individual agreement on my behalf, but he is assisting me.
Thank you!!

NO!
It depends on your household situation.
If your partner was unemployed and suddenly got a job then he would be expected simply to make a more reasonable contribution to the household expenses, which in turn would effect the amount of disposable income you'd have to contribute towards your IVA.
If your partner is already making a fair contribution to the household income then very little would change. A small percentage change in your household expense contributions might free up a few shillings in your own I&E but probably not a noticable amount...
If your partner has agreed to contribute an extra £100 or so from his own Disposable income to bulk up YOUR contributions then that's his gift (perhaps to improve the chances of YOUR IVA being accepted).
And anyway, if your partner did get a new job with better pay, your IP is unlikely to find out until some sort of a review!
(EDIT: also, your partner probably has debts of his own that he'd be happier to pay off first with a his pay increase before improving his contribution to your debts!;))Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?

Thank you Charco for clearing that up for me!!
Another worry of mine is the papers being sent to the County Court. A family member works there!!!! Plus i work in a solicitor's office, so i can just imagine the gossip!!!!
But, i have to let this worry go and just think that it's the best solution to get my life back on track again.0 -
The good news is that somebody working in that kind of a job will have been sworn to secrecy and will have signed contracts to this effect... They are bound under the the Data Protection Act never to mention this outside work so should NEVER be able to mention this to the rest of your family!
The bad news is that somebody working in that kind of a job will have been sworn to secrecy and will have signed contracts to this effect... They are bound under the the Data Protection Act never to mention this outside work so should NEVER be able to mention this to YOU! You'll never know it slipped by their desk unnoticed or if they know and aren't mentioning it to you.Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
