they used to (not sure if they still do) follow the bandings that the venue or origional source of tickets sell them, just at a different price. Have a look at the price brackets of the theatre concerned and then compare.
when you select the tickets for that date they used to tell you wether they were stalls, circle, balcony etc.

Third class tickets up at the back of the balcony - second class nearer the front of the balcony. depending how popular the show is you can always move from the back of the balcony to the front. Managed to do this with Sister Act and Billy Elliot (mid week performances) thereby paying the lowest price for the mid range ticket. They only problem I had with lastminute.com was going to see woman in black -those seats were bad but mostly they are good value.Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0

Theatremonkey have charts which are colour coded by price so you can easily see which seats fall into which full price range. You can then check whether they are value for money on the seat opinions chart.
The main problem with lastminute.com is they dont say where the seats are (no seat numbers til you get the tickets) and when they say best available they mean the best they have available not the best of the unsold seats in the theatre.0 -
I've paid for second class seats with lastminute and got given first band seats. Of course the risk is you don't know this till you get to the theatre.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. We ended up with a partially restricted view last time we used them. I was a bit annoyed about it but we just made the most if it, and it was a ticket and meal for a tenner type thing so didn't break the bank. If it ever happens again though I'm going to complain, we saw a couple get moved no doubt for the same reason.0
