    There's no such thing as a new scam either. These emails are simply nasty email pharming and all the forwarded addresses will be scammed even more or worse still sent off to sites which'll install trojans. Now, that's scary but it only happens when people spam their relatives and friends -or anyone else in their contact list.

    Are you saying that this is just a chain letter email? If so why has a BT spokesman posted in this thread saying they are aware of this scam? I think that word of mouth to vulnerable people is not scaremongering, just making people aware. Many of us forget the rules about not giving out your credit card details over the phone unless you instigated the call. I don't think this is scary, just a reminder.
