I have to say it was much nicer than Tesco pork and FWIW to the doubters, I have always said that Waitrose are often LESS expensive for basics, than Tesco were*. Waitys special offers have always been a bit better and they price-match many items to Tesco/Sainsburys. You just have to look a bit harder and ignore the posh stuff.
* hark at me, referring to Tesco in the past tense, lol! :rotfl:
Totally agree C-M, tonight we had beef stroganoff, got the beef from the Waitrose essential range, I reckon it was as good as Tesco finest, and loads cheaper! I also bought all the ingredients for Cantonese Pork stir fry and a roast chicken dinner. Got a few essentials and a bottle of wine, and with my 3 coupon limit and my 5 off a 30 conditional spend, my shopping only cost 16 quid. So long Tesco!!!!!!“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”:D0 -
Stop referring to yourself in the third person.
It sounds so egotistical.

As far as i'm concerned Mad can refer to himself in the 3rd, 4th, 5th or 98th person. I am just glad he posts, he makes us all laugh and is a valued and much loved member of this forum.“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”:D0 -

It would be so much more in the spirit of the board if you could say something nice, helpful, useful etc or even amusing. Which is what Mad does :beer::beer:
If you can't you could just keep yourself to yourself or s*d off. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

startedsaving wrote: »Ever since I first discovered this forum, and couponning etc, it seemed obvious that one of these days, sooner or later, it would all come to an end. IMHO I think its the gangs using masses of coupons that have stirred it all up. However, even before that, we constantly had the so-called coupon police constantly on at everyone not to do this or that which they percieved would compromise coupon usage - a total waste of time, as its really up to everyone individually what they do. Using so called 'no-no' coupons, going back around, splitting shopping - why is this more likely to end things than constantly getting onto Customer Services asking for emails re the policy or complaining if coupons weren't taken? In the days of R&R, the ones who 'thrashed' it were regarded as heros (until that all crashed as well), and similarly the one or two posters who had endless health & beauty leaflets, and boasted non-stop about it - they probably contributed to that coming to an end as well. The moral of the story seems to be grab it while you can...
Lets agree to disagree on the point you raised re the coupon police as most of the posters on here didnt want to lose the advantages of this policy through it being abused and therefore posted warnings against anything they perceived as aiding the downfall of the policy and Im sure they did so with the very best of intentions.
However I am definitely with you on the point of complaining to customer services and emailing everywhere possible regarding coupons that werent taken. This must have been highly annoying for them and very tedious on opening their emails and be bombarded by people complaining. In effect this kept bringing the subject to their attention which probably contributed to bring down the policy.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494
