I had a major rammy with my local store last night, and I do mean major rammy.

I had a £5 off £50 from Farmfoods, and after spending £60 presented voucher to till assistant. Surprise surprise, "Sorry sir that is a Farmfoods voucher???" "Aye, Tesco policy is to accept competitors conditional spend vouchers, I've used them in here before" is my usual retort.

Till manager gets called, till manager goes to CS. 10 minutes passes, the Q builds up, punters are NOT amused. The produce a list which I'm going to scan and post once I'm through ripping Head Office a new one. Farmfoods was NOT on the list so sent packing.

Phoned Head Office (again!) the policy is to accept ALL of these vouchers BUT it is at the managers discretion!?! They assure me that there exists no list, so now that I have been furnished by said list, I shall be forwarding it to them for their comments.

Also sick of hearing that they get the money back from the competitor when they take the vouchers. DO THEY THINK WE ARE BUTTONED UP THE BACK!?

Oh, LIDL ain't on the list either, despite me asking the store deputy/makeshift manager dude who called me tonight to tell me about the list, whether the £5 off £30 in the Daily Express was accepted - he said it was!

    You canny make it up!
always using store managers discrection when I had a query about competitors spend and save so I never knew what would be accepted from week to week and WIGIT (yes you are right M4rtin it should be WIGIG:rotfl:) when I asked for a raincheck and never giving DTD until I asked for it-and then muttering and moaning to each other while scowling at me and looking me up and down as if I was doing something wrong in asking them to adhere to their own policy
I am pleased to be out of there and save more than I did in coupons by shopping at store that have the offers that suit me and so much nicer to have pleasant customer service staff rather than the surly scowling faces when you approach CS at my local Tesco. I have decided that even if coupons are accepted again I would rather have a nice shopping experience and will not be going back especially as so far I am saving more too with the help and advice of you nice people who post where the best offers are
I do have some double ups so will have to venture in before they run out but will only be spending the double ups as I begrudge them my custom now after seeing how well other stores treat their customers, I'm actually enjoy shopping more now that I know i will be treated with friendliness and respect when I have a problem. I am kicking myself for not taking my friends advice and shopping elsehwere before now but c'est la vie:o
Thanks again for posting offers all of you who do:A
