First proper (ie studying all the prices) trip to Lidl today.

    Jeez - it's a bit grim.

I remember the first time I went to an Aldi store about 20 years ago and was shocked at the cheap prices. With Lidl I was instead trying to find some bargains. Virtually everything in the shop I thought "I could get that cheaper in Tescos or Sainburys by picking the value range".

The fruit and veg section was a sorry affair shoved out of the way. Got some avocados for 29p each but half the box was fit for the bin. Their red onions are on special at 39p a bag, which is good but again quality was poor.

I've never been to a Lidl in this country (went to a great one in France last year) but our local Aldi is relatively new and all the fruit etc. is good quality. I don't buy much veg as I grow my own :D. I don't rate Tesco's fruit and veg - Morrisons is better.

We have 2 Netto's - the old one is horrible and full of the town's unwashed - very grim.

The new one is lovely - amazing difference from the same retailer.

Went to my nearest Waitys today, my fave SA was on the till but still only 3 mocs allowed. As I walked out who did I bump into but COUPONGIRL. We used to meet at Tesco but not any more, how times change quickly...

Keep up the Tesco boycott if you can! I must say I like shopping in Waitrose much better but in 3 stores I tried I couldn't find 2 of my kids' favourites; no 'proper' Peperami nor Turkey Dinosaurs...

Kit Kat Chunky 5 packs are 2 for £2.30 though and Time Out multipacks are £1.35ish, also the Coco Shreddies are £1.50. I was just in there for a 10 minute work break and needed goodies for my ravenous children on their return from school and for tomorrow's lunch boxes - BTW I don't only buy chocolate, lol,!:rotfl:
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
