Someone mentioned the 9p shortbread in Ts the other day.
Sainsburys also do value shortbread for 12p for 10 fingers. It's OK - not what I'd call proper shortbread (not all butter and no riceflour) but that hasn't stopped me scoffing a whole packet since yesterday!

Same again today, tried a different Tesco near where I work, I just bought a few things and tried one coupon, no problem at all. It is obviously not nationwide.:jI went in my Tesco last night (10th Oct) and did my usual shop. There were no stickers on the till about not taking coupons. I asked the till girl if they were still taking coupons and she said "Yes, no problem". I don't know if this manager used his discretion, but I assumed it was national policy.
I don't blame Tesco for this decision, I blame (as in previous posts) customers being greedy and abusing the coupon procedure. Tesco are not a charity, and if their profits are being threatened by people abusing the system it makes sense to stop it. Personally I think they will start to allow them again after a cooling down period.0 -

Yep, power corrupts and apparently it also blinds people too.
Alas its not worth our time.0 -
Ooohhh- pulls no punches, there, does he? :money: What about the article posted the other day (from Tony Notts?), mentioning the media coverage? :cool:0

I personally think that there were a number of reasons why Tesco changed it's policy (of which one was the media coverage - you can read the other reasons in one of my previous posts) but I do think that Tesco's has ultimately made you (ie. Martin) the scapegoat for the change in their policy :-(0 -
The cupboards were getting bare, so VC (third person, singular;)) popped into Tesco for the first time since "Black Friday".

Hovis Soft White Medium 800g
Any 3 for £3.00 - valid from 30/09/2009 until
VC (third person, singular;))"bought" 6 loaves with 6 coupons (the coupons were each put through as £1.14....the cost per individual loaf) so quickly grabbed some free sweets for the kids. Leaving with his cash (and Tesco non-spending) intact!;)
Half a dozen loaves a day, should fill the freezer up soon!
VC (third person, singular;)) can always use the toaster to defrost the bread, if anyone is unsure how to do it:rolleyes::rotfl:
VC (third person, singular;)) wouldn't even go into the Tesco garage to pay 20p for the tyre-air, and so stopped and cheerily paid at a garage on his (third person, singular;)) way to Waitrose.
The Waitrose shop was a pleasant surprise, with a smiling SA, who happily took all the coupons VC (third person, singular;)) had.
:beer::beer::beer:
As far as I am concerned,now, the only Sir Terry is "Wogan"
;) It's nice to be nice .....:beer:
