My son works for the Co-op and tips me off by text message when they have mega reduction bargains, then gets his staff discount off as well :D

Could you be an:A and when your son sends you list of co-op bargains put a post on here for us - it would help loads with our weekly shopping lists - and i think people forget about the co=op weel i do any go to the igger shops .
    thank you[/QUOTE]

:A These bargains are usually for things that are reduced instore (got loads of joints of beef in my freezer when someone mucked up the store order) :o but will also ask my son to tip me off about any other bargains, like the 2 for £8 tins of chocs (cheaper than T's) :rotfl: as he often fills the shelves as well as doing reductions and working on the till
  • I got the innocent veg pot email too they are on offer in Sainsburys usually £3.50:eek: down to £2.50 then £1.50 after the coupon. I'll try one but the chance of me buying another at £3.50 for a sml pot of veg stuff is zero:rotfl:

Is it still tesco policy to accept spend and save??like the waitrose voucher

Yes, it is still policy at Tesco. There was talk of some tightening up on which stores they will take these from but spend & saves from the main Supermarkets - like Sainsburys and Waitrose - are fine, AFAIK.

But if you do have a Waitrose nearby you'd be much better off using it there (Waitys are generally NOT more expensive on 'normal-non-posh-Waitrose' brands).

Not only should you be able to also use a few mocs without buying the products, but Waitys are also handing out another fiver voucher for next week, when you use the Sun one this week (ask the cashier if they forget to offer it).

Ooooh, and I walked into Tesco today!!

I was looking for my Mum, who usually shops in there on a Wednesday and I wanted to offer her some coupons before she got to the till (she buys Hovis, Anchor & other stuff I realised I had mocs for).

I didn't see Mum so I walked back out (didn't even spend a penny!!!).

The £5 one was a definate no the scouts/Walls confirmed it, the 50p one was okay it was emailed to some people, and I'm sure was checked aswell.
PC - I've got a copy of the 50p coupon and have never used it cos I remember someone on here saying it wasn't supposed to be in the public domain (may have been Coupon-mad, can't remember now).

I've just checked it and the flyer it's attached to is from the Scout Association, so surely it's as much a no-no as the £5 one?

well, the whole thing has been billed as a trial and each store had an option as to whether to take part or not...that I know....so i guess at least one store in the entire country didn't take part in the trial!
I can't see them changing it back to be honest. my local have even gone to the extent of make laminated white signs to stick on every till stating the new policy, seems a bit extreme for something temporary. I wonder if it will be manager's discretion again as to whether policy is reverted back.
I honestly can't see them reverting it either.

Before, not everyone was aware of T's policy - now every single customer stares at the new policy as they stand in the queue.

It's been in the media, the manufacturer's obviously are aware of the change, etc and for T's to suddenly go back to its old ways in 4 weeks time seems sadly unlikely.

I agree, they won't turn back now, they can't really. Tesco can hardly 'announce' that they have decided to accept coupons without buying the right product.

I also suspect that they were threatened with legal action from manufacturers and/or Couponnet and/or Valassis etc, it would explain the swift U-turn. That, plus the massive fraud in the West Midlands - and Martin's ill-advised GMTV comments all kicking off in the same week have nailed the coffin-lid firmly down on the dear departed coupon policy, IMHO.

Me and Mad are defending couponers desperately but the "your greedy fraudsters brigade" are out in force

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1986673&page=8
just taken me about an hour to read all their posts, they in their "wisdom" have made up their minds that we are all typecast as "your greedy fraudsters brigade" in my mind they are very sad self opionated people who maybe dont have to budget or maybe never got a chance to use coupons as per "tescos policy" I honestly dont think we need to keep defending ourselves, because we know WE DID NOTHING WRONG. :p
