Has this ebayer gone mad?

I could understand someone with a zero feedback bidding like this to be stupid, but this ebayer does have some kind of feedback history - I know you can be a big fan, but surely this is a bit mad????

I can kind of understand (I would go if someone gave me a ticket :p ). Do you think they'll have to take a loan out for it? (the bidder not P&B)

Personally, I'd pay NOT to go ...
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

    Me too.

I love the bit where it says you must sign an agreement you are not a member of the press and consent to criminal record check.

Yeah knowing it was for a charity (NSPCC) would make me bid higher but not as high as the bidders in this particular auction, I'd definately need a loan to pay for it! It guess it would be kind of cool to attend :)

Reading the auction carefully it's not even for an invite to the party; just the reception! So at 9pm everybody else goes to the ball and the lucky winners have to push off home.
I really can't understand the country's obsession with celebrity.
    Can I help?

While I'm in "cynic" mode I don't even think it's for a good cause. Historically the NSPCC have spent more money on admin than on charitable work itself (see here for an example).
£100,000 spent directly could do so much more.
    Can I help?
