am i ever going to find a decent priced nyc/phl flight again?

The dynamics of transatlantic flight priceing seems to have changed.
im trying to book flights from manchester to new york or philadelphia for around the 4th or 5th of november. When ive booked before the prices where cheaper if i booked a few months in advance and i could pick certain days which were far cheaper if i was flexible. Now they seem to be a similar price even if im booking a month ahead or when i check prices for tommorow. Theres nothing under £370 and they arnt direct. The direct man to philly flights are £410, thats £100 more than ive ever paid. Are the airlines likely to drop their prices or is this due to increased taxes or fuel prices or something?

    I put in 4th-9th November on www.kayak.co.uk
For New York cheapest was £355 indirect Philly is £376 indirect neither of which seem too bad. There's also cheaper fares from London.

You can set up a fare alert with Kayak which you might find useful

I noticed some things going on with flights too. I am going to Philly (I go atleast once a year to visit family) in June next year. Over the yrs we sometimes flew into Newark or NY because there was quite a difference in price for flights and being it was only 2+ hrs to Philly..we never minded. Last year we noticed that it was MORE expensive to fly into Newark or NY than it was to Philly which we found odd because more times than not..Philly is always more expensive.
So we were looking around a bit lately for next yr's holiday and well..Philly is more expensive than Newark and NY...(for the moment anyways).
What gets me is these routes the airlines set up sometimes. One year..we flew from Stavanger Norway then Oslo, Norway to Stockholm, Swe to Newark, NJ.
What a pain in the bum that was!
Why you have to west to go east..I will never understand lol.

Hope ya find something though, Mikouk
