HELP please
Hi.
I'm with British Gas on a prepayment meter for Electricity and just going onto the same for Gas. After a a year of problems getting it moved.
I had never paid for Gas in a year and bit, due to BG sorting things out. Bill is £659. odd for a year n bit. So pay this off weekly.
I was told of the Click Energy,I've looked at it and SO confused. I phoned BG and they just refered me to website.
I struggle to understand this greatly, due to mental health. So would be glad for somebody to help me /advice on this please.
I get both Gas&Electricy via British Gas. Spend I'm told roughly a £1.00 a day on Electicity. However this would have changed as my partner has moved in and the computer is on constant.
Any guidance?
Thanks

You will have agreed a weekly payment for your bill on top of the gas you are going to use.
It's easier to keep track if you top up on the same day every week. for the meter the week starts on a Wednesday (don't know why), so it will expect the weekly payment from then. (so if you top up on a tuesday and wednesday it is possible for it to take the weekly payment both days).
If you top every wednesday what you expect to use, and the payment for the bill, anything else you put on before the next wednesday will all be for gas.
PAYGE Click is an internet tariff for prepayment meters. You need to sign up online, they can't do it over the phone. You will need your reference numbers for gas and electricity (begin 850).
Once you are registered a message is sent to your meters to change the price on them, and that's it. You don't need to do anything more online.0 -
If you have mental heath issues you may call the Essentials care team at BG and they will register it for you.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Thanks for that.
The Essentials team said I can't get the social tariff due my income. They said there putting me down on a priority list, should there be a power cut or that. Does anybody know more regarding this?

This is called the Home energy care register. It means that if their is a problem in your neighbourhood and the gas or electric is turned off the meter operators try to get the people on this register back onto supply quickly. Last year when a large area had no gas for a few days people on this Reg were visited and given alternative forms of heating if needed.
From what you say I think you will also have been put onto the Essentials safe and sound. As this does not include the lower tariff ( due to your income) you were advised of Click as an alternative way to lower your costs.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -
Hi.
Yes then advised yesterday that click for energy is no longer available to me as pre payment customer. It was customer relations, as there dealing with changing my gas meter to pre payment.
Whats essentials safe and sound?0 -
Click energy is no longer available for Credit meters. They can now get websaver 4. For PP customers there is PAYGE Click. Essential Safe and sound is for people with health problems but do not have a low income.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
