Seller selling car but told me he had sold it

I am watching this listing:

As i am looking for a renault megane convertible i contacted this seller because he has it listed as a 'karman' model and i have never heard of this type. So i asked him to confirm the model and also told him that i searched on what car and as far as they are concerned this make doesn't exist so was it a special edition. Anyway, he responded a few days later and said 'i have sold the car' that was the reply (this was on friday).

What i'm wondering is why he hasn't closed the auction yet if he is putting off potential buyers.

The mind boggles.

Dont believe that its a Karman. Karman make the roofs for VW / Audi convertables, and there was also the Karman Ghia. Doubt that Renault would have anything to do with them.

Maybe he hasnt closed the Auction as he dosent know how to - the process is not that easy on ebay, and he may not even know if you can close the auction.

There is a special Karmann edition of this model. Here's another one.

I sent him an email back saying 'i think you might want to close your auction then' and on the auction it says 'i reserve the right to close the auction' etc etc so he knows he can close the auction.

Thanks rdwarr, i wonder why what car doesn't say about this.
